About
I’m a Full-Stack Software Developer from Aotearoa New Zealand. I moved to Montreal, Canada 🍁 in November 2024 to live overseas and learn a new language, having spent the past 5 years working for Trade Me (the eBay of New Zealand).
After starting Francisation in April 2025, I’m now in level 8, my final level. I’m actively looking for a new role in the Québécois / Canadian job market.
I’m friendly, hardworking, and interested in building software that has a positive social impact.
I’m interested in how technology can empower people, particularly in the realms of open data, data visualisation, and more recently open social protocols.
In my spare time I play guitar and ski. I like podcasts, Studio Ghibli movies and making silly things in code for fun. I’ve helped make an album, a theatre show, and an album during a theatre show.
Experience
A bit of my work/education history:
French Student • Centre Saint-Louis
Apr 2025 - Present
Part of Quebec’s francisation program for immigrants. Started at level 3 (A2) and currently in level 7 (B2).
Full Stack Developer • Trade Me
Nov 2019 - Jan 2025
Trade Me is New Zealand’s largest online marketplace, and 5th most visited website. My final role was working in the Marketplace team, building features for high-volume sellers.
Data Analyst • CCS Disability Action
Mar 2018 - Nov 2019
CSS is a disability advocacy group in NZ. They had partnered with another company to create an app called “Access Aware” that let people report mobility carpark abuses. I classified and analysed this data, creating a custom reporting tool that pulled data from an external API and sent out monthly reports.
Developer Intern • Snapper
Nov 2016 - Feb 2017
Snapper provides bus & train card services in Wellington. I had a summer internship where I worked on Snapper’s external client services, mainly the Android app.
BSc in Computer Science • Victoria University of Wellington
2016 - 2019
Focused on software engineering with coursework in programming languages, UI design, and AI. Group projects included a laser cutter controller and various web applications.
